Donatos poised to open new pizza shop in Fairborn

A new and larger Donatos Pizza restaurant is poised to open next month in Fairborn.

The restaurant at 240 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road is on schedule to open the week of May 19, according to Todd Rogers, the franchise owner of the Fairborn pizza store. The existing Donatos at 21 N. Broad St. in Fairborn will close its doors the day before the new location opens, Rogers said.

The new 2,400-square-foot restaurant seats 68 inside and another 24 to 28 on a patio, Rogers said. The existing pizza shop seats 35. The new restaurant will open with 20 to 24 employees, about 10 more than the existing pizza shop, the franchise owner said.

The Dayton-Yellow Springs Road restaurant will benefit from its location in the middle of a residential area and from increased vehicle traffic, Rogers said.

The new restaurant has applied to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control for a beer-only license, although the license has not yet been approved and won’t be in place when the restaurant opens, Rogers said.
