Trying to donate your old clothes and home goods? There’s an app for that.

A new partnership between Goodwill and Roadie Inc. is making it easier for people to donate clothes and furniture to sporting goods and old toys. App-based community Roadie will pick up unwanted items and take them to the nearest donation center through Feb. 28.

Roadie is an app that connects people with drivers who are going in the right direction for cheaper shopping.

“January is typically a month when people reflect and resolve to do better; it’s also a time when donations are traditionally down for Goodwill,” said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. “So, this year, we are partnering with Roadie to make donating easier than ever and asking you to resolve to be a job creator by donating to Goodwill in 2017.”

First time Roadie users who donate items through the app or website will receive free pickup and delivery to their local Goodwill donation center, using the promo code GOODWILL.

Goodwill shoppers who wish to use Roadie for the first time to deliver purchases to their home or office can use the same promo code for free local delivery. This offer is valid for one delivery per customer.

Goodwill can’t accept certain items like televisions, mattresses, cribs and other items due to the high cost of disposal and stringent government regulations.

Roadie customers can click on the Goodwill icon on the Roadie app or go to www.roadie.com/Goodwill to schedule a pickup.
