MORE: South Limestone Kroger in Springfield to close March 4
The grocery chain’s former 27,260-square-foot store at the Cross Pointe Shopping Center remains vacant to this day, with Earth Fare still paying rent on the space since its lease still runs through Oct. 31, 2026.
The shopping center is also home to retailers like Marshalls, Learning Express, Bellazio Salon, and the center is next to a $30 million, 312 unit luxury apartment community, Allure, which was just developed.
“It’s hard to lease the bigger spaces, although we have been actively looking for a grocery store especially with all the new apartments,” said Kelly Gray, of Equity Inc., who lists the former Earth Fare space along with Tracey Herron.

The 101 E. Alex Bell Road, Suite 176, store is up for lease for $10 per square foot with the tenent responsible for the expenses of the property including real estate taxes, building insurance, and maintenance.
A Earth Fare official announced in January 2016 that the store was closing, saying at the time “as Earth Fare continues to execute a new strategy, including accelerating the growth of our store base, we reviewed our existing store portfolio and determined that the closing of our Dayton location will help to position the company for continued expansion.”
The store, which was the Dayton area’s only Earth Fare, had opened in October 2011.
