New restaurant opens on Brown St. near UD

The Bourbon Street Grill and Café, which has operated a restaurant in downtown Dayton and mobile eateries on Courthouse Square and at area festivals, has opened a new restaurant at 1043 Brown St. near the University of Dayton.

The 2,000-square-foot restaurant seats 48 and employs eight, according to owner Hassan Abdalla.

Abdalla said business had dropped off at the former Bourbon Street Grill downtown location at 130 W. Second St., which did little business after 4 p.m. weekdays or on Saturdays, when Brown Street is bustling. “And this gives us a chance to introduce our food to new people,” he said.

The menu includes the restaurant’s signature bourbon chicken, as well as blackened chicken, salmon or sea bass, wraps, burritos, burgers, gyros, salads, and sides that include green beans, Cajun potatoes, steamed vegetables and pinto beans and rice.

The restaurant’s location formerly housed a Cassano’s Pizza King restaurant, which moved to 1200 Brown Street in 2013.

Bourbon Street Grill is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., closed Sunday. For more information, call (937) 524-1144.
