The Evans 4x4 Arena was designed and constructed by DriveShop, the dealership said. In an interview, dealership owner and founder Jim Evans said his staff had to be trained to present and drive the course.
This project marks one of their first arenas built specifically for an auto dealership that is permanent and of this size, Evans said.
The course will feature 14 obstacles including features such as a 30-foot “mountain” with 30-degree slopes, a stream, and more.
A grand opening will be announced at month’s end.

The Evans dealership is located at 924 Shiloh Springs Road. The new course will be part of the arena dealership property.
The course is mainly for prospective customers, Evans said. There may be times later when the property is open to rallies, but initially, the course is meant for customers, he said.
“The main thing is giving a customer the experience of the capability of these vehicles,” Evans said.
Evans Auto Group has Volkwagen, Volvo and BMW dealerships on Poe Avenue and an Infiniti dealership in Centerville.
