Shoppers looking to ship packages or pick them up in a secure location will soon be able to use a FedEx center inside the Huber Heights Walmart.

The Walmart at 7680 Brandt Pike is adding a Fedex space inside the store, valued at more than $42,000, according to Montgomery County records.

The Fedex location will open this summer, a Walmart spokesman said. The only other area Walmart with a FedEx store is in Franklin, which opened in March.

Walmart and FedEx made a deal last spring to open 500 FedEx shops inside the Supercenters over two years.

FedEx customers can also direct their packages to the Walmart-based FedEx office via the FedEx Delivery Manager to be held for up to five business days. Secure package delivery has become a huge point of concern across the country as “porch pirates” follow delivery vehicles to snatch deliveries that aren’t immediately take inside or left in a secure box.
