“Our business has grown so much over the years since we bought it, that we just needed more space, and we picked up a couple of new suppliers,” he said Thursday. “We’re carrying a couple of lines of Amish furniture now. It gave us the room to show a little bit more of everything.”

Jack and Ann Warner bought the business in 2008, about five years after the Warners first visited the store.
Warner said he always knew he would one day buy the business. “That was my thought, yeah,” he said. “But we hadn’t planned on buying it so quick.”
The store is a fixture in Germantown. The business was founded by Lester Schenck in his home garage in 1935 before he built the current store in 1959.

The Warners bought the store from Lester Schenck’s son Larry.
“We started putting our pennies together and tried to figure out how to do it,” Warner said.
The store offers bedroom, dining and living room furniture, and appliances made by Whirlpool, Maytag, GE and others.
Today the store has about nine employees.

Warner prides the business on a being a “full-service store.”
“We service what we sell — which is part of the reason that we’re still expanding,” he said.
