The Kroger Co. has recalled two of its food items this week.

The Cincinnati-based grocery retailer recalled its Kroger Dessert Cups-Yellow Sponge Cake because it contains undeclared milk. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious allergic reactions if they consume the product.

The yellow sponge cake is sold in 6.5 ounce, six-pack. The recall was initiated because Kroger was notified of this issue by a customer who consumed this product. Customers who have purchased any of the products described above should not consume them and should return them to a store for a full refund or replacement.

Kroger also recalled its Simple Truth Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. A supplier reported the product may have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The product comes in 12-ounce, clear plastic packages marked with an expiration date of May 02, 2018 stamped on the side. Kroger has removed the item from shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts customers who may have purchased the product.
