The Planet Fitness in Huber Heights will open Friday, Councilman Richard Shaw said.
The new Planet Fitness, a low-cost fitness center chain, is slated to open Friday at the Waynetowne Plaza shopping center at 7819 Waynetown Blvd, the councilman said Monday night.
“I’m able to announce today, having discussions with them directly, they are set to open this Friday with a ribbon cutting set for the beginning of the year,” Shaw said. “This is a project they’ve been excited for.”
A person who answered the phone Tuesday at the Huber Heights business said the company will email members with exact opening details.
Shaw said the location will feature tanning beds, free weights and “the whole nine yards.”
In May, the Dayton Daily News reported the fitness center will be about 19,000 square feet. Two tenants — OneMain Financial Loans and a CheckSmart — were relocated elsewhere to make room for the Planet Fitness.
