Flapjack lovers can rejoice as IHOP has officially opened its doors in Springfield.

IHOP was founded in 1958 and is naturally known for its pancakes. In addition to the multiple flavors of syrup and coffee, IHOP also has a large menu catering to a breakfast, lunch and dinner crowd.

The restaurant chain has made a comeback in the Miami Valley as it has opened stores in Huber Heights and Beavercreek in recent years.

Until today, the closest IHOP locations to Springfield were in Beavercreek and Columbus.

IHOP joins a list of other companies helping to develop the upper portion of North Bechtle Avenue, including Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree. The plaza that will house the national restaurant chain has been in the works since 2006, with the recession slowing down development plans until this year.
