Those affected are child care center employees, said base spokesman Robert Purtiman.
“This is an evolving situation. To correct our earlier post, there were children in the facility last week. CDC staff is in the process of notifying the parents. Testing for the facility employees and contact tracing is currently ongoing,” the base added in the post.
“Once the results are reported later today, leadership will make an informed decision on operations for the remainder of the week,” the post also said. “In addition to the stringent sanitizing protocols that the facility follows, the 88th Mission Support Group is currently working to have an even deeper cleaning completed. More information will be released as it becomes available.”
Purtiman said Monday afternoon that contact tracing work for all those who may have come into contact with the affected personnel is ongoing.
The Wright North facility opened last Monday, he said.
He also said that both the Wright Field North and South child-care facilities will be closed Tuesday for further “deep cleaning” work.
Families have been contacted and are working with public health officials on follow-up actions, he added.
