UPDATE: Dayton home sales prices hit record in June

The average and median sales price for a Dayton area home in June is the highest on record, Dayton Realtors reported today.

Sales of single-family and condominium units reported by Dayton Realtors in June totaled 1,684, relatively flat from June 2017 sales. The average price jumped to a record $183,876 and the median price hit a new high at $158,000, increases of 8.9 percent and 9.3 percent, respectively. The cumulative sales volume reached $309 million, up eight percent from June 2017.

Homes sales for the year jumped one percent from 7,757 in 2017 to 7,796 for the same six-month time period, according to Dayton Realtors.

A cumulative sales volume of $1.27 billion dollars (up almost seven percent) brought the average sale price up six percent to $164,018 and the median sale price up six percent to $140,000 for the six-month period.

Listings submitted in the month of June continued to reflect the tight inventory in the housing market, with 2,155 entries, a drop of just one percent from June 2017. For the January-June period, 10,870 listings were entered, a 2.5 percent decrease from the same period last year.
