A defense firm is proposing to create 250 new jobs in Miami Twp. and was approved for a state tax credit toward the project.

Cornerstone Research Group Inc., which moved to Miamisburg two years ago, is proposing 250 full-time positions in Miami Twp. with $15 million in new annual payroll, adding to $7.5 million in existing payroll that the company will keep in Miamisburg, according to the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.

The project depends on whether they get other state and local incentives, according to the company.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority announced today that the local expansion was among nine economic development proposals it reviewed that were brought to the board by JobsOhio.

The board approved a 2.101 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit toward the company keeping jobs in Miamisburg and the new project in Miami Twp.

Cornerstone manufactures high-tech products and services for the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.

In November 2017, Cornerstone Research Group’s corporate offices and most of its labs and development areas moved to its new location at 510 Earl Blvd., Miamisburg. The company said on its website that the new facilities had more production space and integrated lab space, as well as modern offices and conference rooms, with room to expand.
