Kinsaul said he officially notified the hospital’s board of trustees of his decision to retire on Tuesday. He said the board will launch a national search for a CEO in early 2012.
“I believe that because of all (of) you, Dayton Children’s is poised for great things,” Kinsaul wrote in the letter to employees. “Together we were able to accomplish a great deal in the most challenging of times; we delivered great care and achieved record service excellence scores.”
During Kinsaul’s eight years, Dayton Children’s embarked on the largest information technology project in its history: a $25 million installation of the EPIC clinical information system. The hospital also opened the Springboro Outpatient Care Center, a $16.7 million outpatient care center on the hospital’s main campus, a critical care complex, and a new pediatric trauma and emergency center.
Kinsaul also announced Matt Graybill will become chief operating officer for Dayton Children’s, effective Oct. 3. Graybill is the hospital’s vice president for business development and planning.
