“I’m 70 years old, and it’s getting to be that time” to retire, Grubb said. The store owner said he spoke to a few people about the possibility of selling the business, “but I never pursued it that much.”
Krispin’s employs nine people. The going-out-of-business sale will begin April 4. The store has $2 million worth of inventory, and Krispin’s will will offer reductions up to 75 percent off.
Grubb said the store will complete all existing orders and honor warranties and service agreements.
Krispin’s “has been a part of the history in Centerville, and we have loved being a part of so many families’ lives,” Grubb said. The decision to close the store and retire “was a very emotional and difficult decision,” he said.
