“Evenflo has consistently made investments in its Piqua, Ohio manufacturing plant with a focus on sustainability,” the company said in a news release Monday. “The productivity and capacity gains behind the sustainability effort has made the plant more globally competitive and enabled the company to shift production of some items, whose production had migrated to China, back to the USA.”
The company’s Piqua plant molds and assembles about 90 percent of Evenflo’s car seats and most of the activity centers, the company said. Evenflo molds car seat shells and activity center platforms, then assembles the finished seats by adding buckles, belts, pads and fabric with over 80 percent of those components coming from U.S. producers, the company said.
The company also said it designs and engineers all its products in Miamisburg.
“In addition, year-over-year since 2010, the company has brought manufacturing jobs back to its Ohio manufacturing facility and is committed to creating even more opportunities to grow its workforce in North America,” Evenflo said.
Evenflo car seats and ExerSaucers can be found at Babies R’ US, Target, Wal-Mart and select specialty stores.
