Local official to advise Cleveland Fed

A Montgomery County official will be part of a new group advising the Cleveland Fed on emerging economic and social issues that affect low-income communities.

Tawana Jones, community and economic development operations manager, will be part of the newly formed Community Advisory Council.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, or Cleveland Fed, is part of the U.S central bank. It’s part of the formulation of monetary policy, supervises banks and researches issues in its district. The district covers Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.

Jones and the other council members will help to inform Cleveland Fed’s work on emerging economic and social issues, according to a press release.
