Mr. Roderer was a graduate of Campion High School in Wisconsin and graduate of University of Dayton in 1963. A few years after graduating UD, he became the owner and operator of Roderer Shoes. He would continue to run the store for 51 years.
Born Nov. 3, 1941, in Dayton, Mr. Roderer was the son of the late George and Nellie Roderer.
Roderer Shoes is located at 5500 N. Main St. in Harrison Twp. While there are two Roderer Shoe stores in the Dayton area, they are both owned and operated separately. Both owners share surnames as well as relation to George Roderer, the founder of Roderer Shoes who opened his first shop in Dayton in 1906.
Preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2004, Mr. Roderer is survived by many other family members. Mass of Christian Burial for Roderer will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Christopher Catholic Church on 435 E. National Road in Vandalia.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home.
