Ohio Means Jobs has added several features to its website to help connect employers with workers in a tight labor market.

The tools are expected to make the search for qualified candidates easier and more effective, according to a release for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

“Other job boards charge for these services, but at OhioMeansJobs.com they are free,” said ODJFS director Kimberly Hall. “These are just the first of many website enhancements set to roll out over the next year that will make it easier for Ohio’s employers to identify individuals with the skills they need to be successful.”

Some of the changes include the ability to save and re-post job openings with a few clicks, access to a library of pre-written job descriptions, ability to easily easily edit job descriptions, automatic questions to screen applicants and options to view metrics of searches via a new dashboard, according to the statement.

Employers will have to register for an account to post jobs, which takes a few minutes and requires a state and federal tax ID number. Previously employers did not need to register to post jobs, according to the release.
