Manufacturer, banquet venue seek $3.1M in total building expansions

Bruns Building & Development has applied to build a $2.4 million addition to a local garage door spring manufacturing company.

The application, dated Sept. 24, is for 9200 N. Country Club Road in Piqua, according to Miami County records. The 48,600-square-foot building is the home of IDC Spring, also known as Industrial Spring Doors, a Coon Rapids, Minn.-based company.

The proposed project there involves additional 18,270 square feet, according to the application.

The company opened in 2013 at Piqua’s Scarborugh Industrial Park.

Miami County records also show that a new banquet hall and event facility planned in a former downtown U.S. Bank branch in Troy.

In an application dated Sept. 27, Lockbox 290 has applied to build a banquet hall in downtown Troy, in a project valued at $700,000. The address is 8 S. Market St., and the square footage involved is 12,281 square feet, the application indicates.

Aiming for a June 2020 opening, Lockbox 290 on its web site says it intends to to create a “space hosting wedding ceremonies and receptions, as well as corporate and family events,” hosting up to 300 guests.

Four Sons Development LLC, led by Wade Westfall, of Troy, is renovating the space.
