Amazon announced in May 2015 that it would develop the centers in the region at cost of $1.1 billion. The three centers are expected to employ 120 workers, according to the Dispatch.
In conjunction with the development of the data centers, Amazon also is developing a wind farm in Paulding County in northwestern Ohio that the company says will generate wind energy directly into the grid powering the data centers in central Ohio and other current and future data centers, the Dispatch reported. The wind farm is expected to become operational next year.
