Miamisburg restaurant co-founder dies in Florida

Todd Gamble Lyons, co-founder of Bullwinkle’s Top Hat Bistro in Miamisburg, died Sunday at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, Florida. He was 53.

Mr. Lyons was co-owner of Bullwinkle’s for 19 years, from its founding in 1986 until 2005, according to John Forman, the current owner of the bistro who bought it in 2006.

“Todd was a big influence on Bullwinkle’s, and he visited often,” Forman said. “We’re going to memorialize him in some way, and we’ll work with the Lyons family to do something appropriate.”

Mr. Lyons was a 1978 graduate of West Carrollton High School and attended Urbana College and Western State College in Gunnison, CO. In addition to owning Bullwinkle’s, Mr. Lyons owned and operated Bugaboo Moosetraks specialty store for 13 years and was involved in the revitalization of Miamisburg Main Street.

He is survived by his wife, Jodi (Brown) Lyons of Miamisburg; his son, Dylan Gamble Lyons of Springboro; his daughter, Rainey Zane Lyons; mother, Carolyn (Frank) Jones; sister, Leslie (Lyons) Dixon of West Carrollton; and mother-in-law, Zana Brown of Farmersville.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home in Miamisburg. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
