The new Kettering store is located on the corner of the heavily traveled intersection of East Stroop/County Line Road and East Dorothy Lane/Indian Ripple Road, adjacent to The Greene Town Center. Renovations are underway, and two additions will be built to the existing structure, according to documents filed with the city of Kettering.
Montgomery County online property records show the property — just over half an acre — sold on Aug. 29 for $600,000. It had been appraised for tax purposes at $153,000.
“Being next to The Greene makes it an attractive location, certainly,” Plantz said. The mattress-store firm is moving toward such free-standing stores rather than leasing space in strip retail centers, he said. The new store will have two employees.
This is the eighth Sleep Outfitters store in the Dayton area. The Winfield, West Virginia-based Innovative Mattress Solutions operates 160 stores under four nameplates in six states.
A sign on the door of the business refers Moto Photo customers to the photography chain’s store at 6223 Far Hills Ave. in the Washington Square shopping center in Washington Twp.
