DP&L owner AES Corp.’s United States Strategic Business Unit said Vincent Parisi has been named its president of U.S. utilities, effective June 3.

In that role, Parisi will serve as president and chief executive of DP&L and Indianapolis Power & Light Co.

Currently a vice president of Columbus-based Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc., Parisi has 18 years of experience in the utilities industry, serving as a senior executive for 16 of those years.

LAST YEAR: DP&L CEO to resign

“We are pleased to have someone of Vince’s caliber join us at the helm of IPL and DP&L,” Lisa Krueger, AES United States Strategic Business Unit president, said in a statement Thursday. “His knowledge of the Midwest utilities industry, combined with his strong focus on serving customers, will allow us to continue to provide reliable, affordable and smarter power to our customers today while preparing for the energy future.”

Former president and CEO Craig Jackson left DP&L in December to “spend more time with his family and begin exploring new career opportunities.”
