GE Aviation in Ohio wins $140M jet engine contract

The Pentagon has awarded General Electric Aviation nearly $140 million for military turbofan plane engine supplies.

GE Aviation has been awarded a maximum $138,237,708 contract for supplies related to the TF-34 engine, an engine used in the A-10 Thunderbolt and other aircraft.

This is a five-year contract with one five-year option period, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The work will be performed in Ohio with a Sept. 30, 2025 completion date, the Pentagon said.

The Defense Logistics Agency in Richmond was the contracting organization, but the military service benefiting from the work will be the Air Force.
