New Centerville hamburger restaurant to open Monday

Bagger Dave’s pub will be 1st Ohio location, and is hiring 100

The first Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern in Ohio has announced it will open Monday in the Cornerstone of Centerville development.

The 4,500-square-foot restaurant at 5299 Cornerstone North Blvd. will seat about 170 and will employ about 100, a Bagger Dave’s spokesman said. It is located near the Wilmington Pike entrance to Costco Wholesale, on the western edge of the Cornerstone of Centerville development. Two other eateries — a Chick-fil-A and a Domino’s Pizza shop — are poised to open in the same area in the coming weeks.

Four more Bagger Dave’s are in the works in southwest Ohio, including locations in the Beavercreek, Springboro/Miami Twp. and West Chester areas, as well as one in the Anderson Twp. near Cincinnati, according to Michael Ansley, president and CEO of Southfield, Michigan-based Diversified Restaurant Holdings Inc., which operates 26 Bagger Dave’s restaurants in Michigan and Indiana. The company also operates 61 Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar franchised restaurants in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Florida.

A lease has been signed for one of the next four locations: the West Chester restaurant will be attached to the AMC Theatres location just off Union Centre Boulevard and Interstate 75 at The Streets of West Chester development, and will open in early 2016, Ansley said.

The first 50 customers in the Centerville restaurant on opening day Nov. 9 will receive a free burger every week for a year, a Bagger Dave’s spokesman said.

Founded in 2008, Bagger Dave’s describes itself as “a full-service, ultra-casual restaurant and bar.” In addition to several different beef burgers, the restaurant offers grilled chicken, turkey and black-bean burgers. Its signature “Train Wreck” beef burger is topped with fries, a fried egg, cheddar cheese, sautéed onions, lettuce, mushrooms and Rail House Thousand Island dressing.

“The Cornerstone of Centerville is a perfect location for Bagger Dave’s to be introduced to the Ohio market,” Ansley said in a release.
