The new Menards will be built on 21 acres by the Kroger Marketplace that opened in August 2017.
“This store will serve as a great addition to our development as an important anchor retailer at Shoppes at Valle Greene,” stated Chris Conley, Oberer Realty Services president and partner, who brokered the real estate deal.

Oberer also is seeking a new tenant for the building where Kroger had been before the new Marketplace opened.
“We are looking forward to the redevelopment of the former Kroger store to offer additional retail and restaurant opportunities,” Conley said.
The Dayton Daily News reported in April that Menards was planning a new store in the city.
It will be the first Greene County location for Menards. The company also has Miami Twp. and Tipp City stores.
Plans submitted by Menards propose 173,266 square feet of heated store and 27,657 square feet of garden and shipping floor area, as well as a 46,780-square-foot accessory warehouse building and 415 parking spaces.
Menards could hire about 45 full-time and 80 part-time employees.
