“Downtown Dayton holds a huge piece of my business’ heart,” owner Stephanie Ross said in a statement from the partnership. “Starting the business out, I lived in Dayton and was able to see firsthand how Dayton truly does inspire and supports small business owners.”
The opening is another phase of the “Pop-Up Project,” a Downtown Dayton Partnership effort to fill downtown storefronts called Activated Spaces.
“For every pet bed or mat sold, one will be donated to a local animal shelter,” the partnership said.
The shop will host its grand opening from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 3, with a ribbon cutting set for 10:30 a.m. Throughout the day, customers will have a chance to win pet-related raffle prizes.
Project Warmth will be open on various hours Tuesday through Saturday; see the shop's Facebook page for more information.
The Pop-Up Project offers business owners shorter leases at below-market rates as a way for them to open their doors more easily. Since it was started, the project has launched 25 shops (17 of which stayed open past their initial pop-up phase), filled more than 21,000 square feet of previously vacant space and created 42 jobs, the partnership says.
