New restaurants open in Fairborn, another coming to Kettering/Fusian opens Columbus location

Three new restaurants have opened or are about to open in the Dayton area.

• A new Asian restaurant called Eat Rice is scheduled to open within the next two weeks at 2236 S. Smithville Road in The Shoppes at Kettering Pointe, said restaurant co-owner Hua Lin.

Eat Rice will seat up to 30 diners and will offer carryout. It will open with about eight employees, Hua Lin said. The 1,326-square-foot restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. For more information, go to www.EatRiceKettering.com web site or call (937) 256-6666.

• A restaurant called Dallas Diner has opened at 1072 Kauffman Ave. in Fairborn. The restaurant seats 97 and has 10 employees, according to Dolores Kaya of Fairborn, who owns the restaurant with her husband Poppy Kaya. Located in a former Burger King, Dallas Diner opened Jan. 31 following about a year of extensive renovations, Kaya said.

• Mama Jude’s Thai Kitchen opened Monday at 1178 Kauffman Ave. in Fairborn in a space that formerly held a Super Subby’s restaurant. The restaurant is owned by Jude Dantzler, who has worked in food service at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for several years and whose childhood dream has been to own a restaurant, according to Mama Jude’s Thai Kitchen manager Debbie Wood. The restaurant employs 8 and seats about 35, Wood said.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (937) 318-8425.
