New retailer pushes back opening date for Dayton area store

Retail chain Bargain Hunt will add a new location in Miami Twp., but the opening date has been pushed back to later this year.

The store, known for its discount merchandise, will be located at 8336 Springboro Pike in Miamisburg. The store will open in late March, according to a company spokeswoman. The company initially told this newspaper it would open in late February.

The store will be located in the former PNC Bank location. The second floor of the building has been removed in a renovation and will leave 33,700 square feet for the retail outlet.This location will employ from 25 to 30 people. Store officials told this newspaper that they are considering additional locations in the Dayton area, as well as throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The store has three locations in Cincinnati and two in Columbus area.

Bargain Hunt has brand name clothing, electronics and TVs, home furnishings, toys, bikes, sporting goods and outdoor gear.

Bargain Hunt has stores in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina. In 2016, Bargain Hunt opened up 20 news locations, and plan to add 30 more locations in 2017.
