New-to-the area furniture store The RoomPlace is still working on its space, filling the former Old Navy location at the Dayton Mall. The store is expected to open in the fourth quarter of this year, said the mall’s general manager Dave Duebber.
2. Ross Dress For Less
The long-awaited Ross Dress For Less is expected to open in late September in the yearslong-vacant former hh gregg space. The store is an off-price concept similar to a Marshall’s or TJ Maxx.
The first Dayton-area location recently opened at 2720 Towne Drive in Beavercreek.

3. Aerie
Construction on a new Aerie store begins Monday, with an anticipated opening date in October, Duebber said. Aerie, American Eagle’s intimates and swim brand, has aggressively expanded in recent months as one of the most successful brand.
4. Real Wavey
Real Wavey, an affordable designer for family fashion and school uniforms, will open in September, Duebber said.
5. Third Perk
Third Perk, which has a downtown Dayton location, will open at the top of the escalator on the food court within the next couple of weeks, Duebber said.
The downtown location at 46 W. Fifth Street was opened by founder Juanita Darden-Jones in 2015.

6. That’s Soul Vegan
The new restaurant is a partnership between current food court Agness Express owner Jose Estremera and owner of the former Dixie Drive Kula Kula restaurant Ashaki Daugherty. Daugherty recently converted Kula Kula to a catering business and plans to bring her popular soul food to the Dayton Mall.
That’s Soul Vegan will open in September in the former Taco Bell. All food items will be plant based and contain all vegan friendly options, but Daugherty said non-vegans will love the taste too.
“I want this to be for vegans and non-vegans alike because this is a place where they will be able to come and taste what they’re used to. This is soul food…this is something for everybody,” Daugherty said.
7. Dip-N-Dots
Dip-N-Dots will open a full service, in-line store on the second level in August.
8. Cinnabon Kiosk
The upcoming Cinnabon kiosk is expected to open with the next couple of weeks. Cinnabon previously had a location at the Dayton Mall before closing in December 2016. The location will have fresh Cinnabons and a coffee selection, a spokesman previously told the Dayton Daily News.
