The ranking said 28 of America’s 500 most valuable brands are based right here in Ohio.

Ten of those brands are found under the Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble umbrella.

“Shampoo brand Pantene topped the list of the most valuable brands in the Buckeye State,” Brand Finance said in a release Thursday.

“Lingerie business Victoria’s Secret and retailers Kroger and Macy’s took 2nd, 3rd and 4th places within the state,” the company added.

Jeep, however, tumbled down the list, losing 56 percent of its brand value due to falling sales, the ranking said.

“When states are ranked in terms of the number of brands in America’s top 500, Ohio was fifth. Its 28 brands accounting for 2.7 percent of the total brand value of the national total,” Brand Finance added.

Other valuable Ohio brands include Macy’s, Head & Shoulders, Tide, Olay, Sherwin-Williams, Marathon Petroleum, Folger’s and others.
