Miami University spent more than $249 million paying all of its employees last year, according to new data for the Dayton Daily News Payroll Project, a searchable database of public employees.
Miami had around 5,228 people on its payroll in 2018, according to data provided by the school. More than 1,900 employees earned at least $50,000 last year.
Three people employed by Miami made more than half-a-million dollars in 2018, payroll project data shows. Football coach Charles Martin was Miami's highest paid employee, earning $546,362 last year.
Miami president Gregory Crawford was the school’s second highest paid employee, bringing in $518,850 in 2018. Hockey coach Enrico Blasi was Miami’s third highest paid employee, making $509,810 last year, according to payroll project data.
