Four of the targeted stores are in Cincinnati, and one each in Hamilton and Middletown are either closed or slated to close in the coming weeks, Pizza Hut spokesman Chris Fuller said Monday.
Fuller would not discuss the factors that led to the decision to close the seven restaurants, citing “competitive business reasons.” He also would not disclose how many are employed at the Englewood Pizza Hut.
Fuller said the restaurants that are closing may be remodeled and may reopen in their current location, or there may be other newly constructed Pizza Hut restaurants that could open nearby.
But he said the chain is not ready to announce detailed plans.
The restaurant has been in its current location since the late 1960s, the employee said, “and people have heard we are closing and are coming in to say goodbye.”
