Ribbon-cutting today for new White-Allen dealership

White-Allen Honda will host a ribbon-cutting and open house today, Jan. 8, at its new dealership at 630 N. Main St. just north of downtown Dayton.

The ribbon-cutting in conjunction with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. The open house, which will include tours of the new facility, will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The new 28,000-square-foot dealership opened last month about a block from White-Allen Honda’s previous 8,000-square-foot facility that was built in 1982.

White-Allen Honda has added five employees because of the expansion and is currently looking for additional salespeople and service technicians, according to a chamber of commerce release. The expansion doubled the number of service bays and added two express service bays for quick oil changes.

“The overall excitement from the employees and customers has been overwhelming,” White-Allen Honda General Manager Dan Nagel said in a release.

The facility has several energy-conservation features, including all-LED lighting indoors and out and the use of recycled oil to heat the service department.

The parent company of local White-Allen dealerships is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with ambitious plans inside and outside the Dayton area.

The White Family Company — parent company of White-Allen Honda — is in the midst of a $10 million investment to its Dayton-area operations. And the company is expanding its geographical footprint elsewhere: it is in the process of purchasing two Colorado dealerships to add to its holdings in Ohio, Wyoming and South Dakota, according to company president Tim White said.

The company is under the direction of the third and fourth generations of the White family.
