Ribbon-cutting tomorrow for new hearing-aid store

Centerville business owned by father-son duo

A new Centerville business called Zounds Hearing of Dayton will host a ribbon-cutting with the South Metro Regional Chamber of Commerce at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 1001 S. Main St. in Centerville.

The hearing-aid store — affiliated with Tempe, Arizona-based Zounds — is owned by the father-son team of Gary and Craig Cornett. Gary Cornett said he was motivated to open the store by his family’s experiences and a desire to help those with hearing loss.

“My father is 79, and he has hearing loss, and I’ve followed his struggles for a number of years,” Cornett said.

The Zounds Dayton location can perform hearing tests and fit hearing aids during the same visit, Cornett said.

Cornett said plans call for adding three other southwest Ohio Zounds Hearing locations: one in the Miller Lane area north of Dayton, one in the northern Cincinnati-Butler County area, and one on Cincinnati’s west side.

Cornett is a Cincinnati native and lives in Fairfield; both he and his son Craig are University of Dayton graduates. For more information about Zounds Hearing of Dayton, call (937) 438-1000.
