The new location — which opened for wholesale business a few weeks ago selling liquor and spirits to bars, restaurants and nightclubs only — is at 5526 Airway Road. The previous location, which has not yet been rebuilt, was at 5556 Airway Road. Schultz said he anticipates moving back into the former location, or close to it, in nine to 12 months after it is rebuilt. The fire gutted a significant portion of the strip shopping center, destroying at least six businesses.
Schultz, who has owned Manor Wine for 22 years, raced to the scene when the fire broke out, and he decided on the spot that he would rebuild.
“I watched it burn down,” Schultz said. “But I was bound and determined to come back. There was never a doubt I was going to come back. I had to jump over a bunch of hurdles to make it happen, but I can’t wait to open the doors and see old customers and friends.”
Schultz said the wine shop will employ 10 people when it reopens. For more information, call the store at (937) 254-5556.
