A trust for Ralph L. “Larry” Roberts II, of the family that founded Wilmington-based trucking company R&L Carriers, purchased 13.9 acres of land off Springboro Pike for $1.1 million, Montgomery County property records show.

The parcel is east of Ohio 741 near where interstates 675 and 75 meet in Miami Twp., according to records.

The deed grantee is identified as a trust for Ralph “Larry” Roberts II. Records show the seller to be LNT Real Estate Holdings-Jeffersonville. The seller has a 2176 Ohio 730 address in Wilmington, which is a farm.

A message seeking comment was left with the general counsel for the Roberts family.

The Roberts family has extensive real estate holdings. A Florida newspaper reported in late 2017 that Roberts bought nearly 900 acres near Ocala, Fla.

Ralph “Larry” Roberts I founded the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club in that area.

“This most recent buying spree follows one in August, when the founder and owner of Ohio-based R + L Carriers interstate trucking company purchased 734 acres of mostly contiguous land west and southwest of Golden Ocala,” the Ocala Star Banner reported. “The price for those properties totaled $10.74 million.”

R&L Carriers has 1,400 employees.
