Montgomery County, the Dayton Development Coalition and the Dayton Region Israel Trade Alliance are hosting an event Thursday for businesses interested in boosting sales to the Israeli military.

Each year, the Israel Ministry of Defense purchases $2 billion of products and services in the United States, and half of these purchases are made directly from U.S. businesses, according to the county and the local alliance.

The Israeli ministry is looking for new vendors, and the ministry already processes more than 5,000 purchase orders annually.

Anyone interested can attend a seminar that begins Thursday with a 7:45 a.m. registration at the Dayton Metro Library downtown main branch, 215 E. Third St. The event will be on the third floor.

Targeted industries include advanced manufacturing, aerospace, software, medical manufacturing, composite materials and more.

Information about requests for proposals and open purchase orders are seen only by companies who are already registered with the program, which reduces the amount of competition to win this work, the county said.

Products are delivered domestically, so businesses don’t have to be experienced in export requirements.

For more information, go to www.daytonregionisraeltrade.com or call Gwen Eberly at (937) 776-3017.

Parking for the event is available under the library accessible at 30 North St Clair St.
