Sharonville Ford plant to hire around 100 to build new transmission

The Sharonville Ford plant, about 40 miles south of Dayton, is going to hire about 100 people and start developing a new six-speed heavy-duty transmission for the Ford F-series Super Duty truck.

The plant currently employs 1,500 employees.

“Today’s announcement is great news for Southwest Ohio and a sign of progress in a vital sector of the American economy, said U.S. Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, said in a statement. “It is my hope that investments like this will spur job growth across the state in the automotive manufacturing sector.”
