The raises are part of a $143-million operating budget and $15-million capital budget approved by Sinclair trustees for fiscal year 2020. Sinclair will spend $2.3 million to provide the raises to faculty and staff, spokeswoman Deena John said.

The budget will also allow Sinclair to move forward with its plans for campus and student initiatives without creating any debt or deferred maintenance, according to the school.
The community college plans to continue “investing in campus improvements to continue positioning Sinclair as an anchor institution in downtown Dayton,” president Steve Johnson said.
Sinclair’s operating budget includes proposals for the creation of an office of work-based learning that will focus on connecting students to employers, the expansion of a veteran services office to establish a military student center, and to grow the school’s College Credit Plus program.
College credit plus allows high school students to complete college classes before graduating. It also allows high school students to explore areas of study as they prepare to seek their college degree, according to the state.
“The budget presented is consistent with the college’s long-range financial and sustainability goals,” Johnson said.
