Southwest acquired AirTran in 2010. The carriers last month began offering shared itineraries in five markets. The combined systems will be expanded later this month and both networks should fully connect in April.
The Houston City Council last week approved a 25-year lease with Southwest toward making the city’s William P. Hobby Airport an international facility for the carrier. Southwest has not yet said what international cities would be served via Houston.
