The Target store on Feedwire Road in Sugarcreek Twp. will undergo a $7.8 million remodeling, according to township records.

Target Corp. said in March it will nearly triple the size of its remodel program this year, updating more than 300 stores around the country.

The Sugarcreek Twp. store is located across from the Cornerstone of Centerville mixed-use development.

According to the company, the remodel — expected to be finished in late summer — will include:

• Enhanced merchandise presentations throughout the store to provide guests with inspiration and style, including updated décor, modern fixtures, mannequins and specialty lighting.

• Updated order pickup and guest service counter.

• A specialty beauty environment that inspires and invites guests to shop, including new fixtures, enhanced lighting and layout.

The chain will also expand its delivery services options for guests, offering free two-day shipping on hundreds of thousands of items on Target.com.

The plans submitted to the township show a dramatic change to the front of the building.

The chain announced several initiatives as part of its multi-year strategy, including significantly expanding its suite of fulfillment options and increasing the starting minimum wage to $12 in 2018.

“We’re making Target America’s easiest place to shop,” said Brian Cornell, Target’s chairman and CEO. “That means blending the best of our physical and digital assets to create new experiences for our guests and reimagining our network of stores into hubs for commerce and community - inspiring showrooms, service centers and neighborhood-based fulfillment centers.”
