Three area companies win $35 million in defense contracts

The Department of Defense announced new contracts to three Dayton-area companies totalling more than $35 million late Wednesday.

Edaptive Computing Inc., with offices at 1245 Lyons Road, was awarded a $10.9 million modification to a previous Army contract for improving medical technology. Work for that contract will be performed in Falls Church, Va., with an estimated completion date of Oct. 25, 2021.

Butt Construction Co. Inc. was awarded a $7.8 million firm-fixed-price contract for renovations to two buildings at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The estimated completion date for that work is April 2, 2021. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville, Ky. was responsible for that contract.

And in Fairborn, Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio has been awarded a $16.3 million task order for natural gas distribution to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, based at Wright Patterson, was responsible for that contract.
