All Kitchen Collection locations will be closed by the end of the year, a move that affects outlets in Beavercreek and Monroe.

Company owner Hamilton Beach Brands Holding Co. said last week that the company will launch sales at its stores in the next few days that will last into the Christmas-selling season before the stores shut down by the end of the year.

Altogether, the company has about 800 employees.

“While operating losses have moderated from the prior year in the first half of 2019, Kitchen Collection continues to experience decreased comparable store sales as a result of declining foot traffic due to the consumer shift to e-commerce sales,” Hamilton Beach Chief Executive Gregory Trepp said in a statement.

“We have evaluated strategic alternatives to maximize the value of the Kitchen Collection business and reached the difficult but necessary decision that it is in the best interests of the company and all of its stakeholders to wind down the business by the end of 2019,” Trepp added.

Affected area stores include the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek and a location at the Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe.

Kitchen Collection LLC sent a WARN (Worker Adjustment Retraining Notice) Act letter to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services last week alerting the state that two locations in Chillicothe will close by Dec. 31, 2019, affecting about 70 employees. The Kitchen Collection company is based in Chillocothe.

Other WARN letters for other locations may follow.
