Two new businesses coming to downtown Miamisburg

MIAMISBURG — Two new businesses have signed leases and are preparing open this spring in downtown Miamisburg.

Urban Loft Boutique will be located at 80 S. Main St. adjacent to Taste of Wine, and the second new business, AmyCakes & Cookies, also will be adjacent to the wine bar and wine shop, according to Miamisburg city officials and Theresa Wilkins, owner of Urban Loft Boutique.

The boutique is a spinoff of Urban Loft Salon & Boutique at 29 E. Central Ave. Wilkins said she collaborated with the salon’s owner, Valerie Farral, to open a boutique initially inside the salon, and it became apparent that a boutique would succeed as a free-standing business. She signed a two-year least on an 800-square-foot space and is hoping to open Urban Loft Boutique by May 17, when Taste of the Burg and Spring Fling will be held in downtown Miamisburg.

The boutique will sell accessories, purses, gift and home items. It will be open seven days. For more information, call (937) 384-0775.

AmyCakes & Cookies is owned by Amy Barkalow, who could not be reached this morning. On her AmyCakes & Cookies Facebook page, Barkalow said this is the first retail location for her business, and she is shooting for a late-May opening.
