UltraCell executive joining SelectTech GeoSpatial

Frank Beafore has joined SelectTech GeoSpatial as its executive director, responsible for overseeing the company’s Advanced Manufacturing Facility at Springfield-Beckley Airport.

Beafore is perhaps best known locally for being the vice president of operations for UltraCell, which makes fuel cells at the company’s plant near Dayton International Airport. The UltraCell operation was the first “micro-sized reformed methanol fuel cell production operation in North America,” SelectTech Services Corp. noted in an announcement.

“Frank built a world-class supply stream and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility serving (Department of Defense), civilian, security, industrial and commercial users of field-portable power units,” Scott Sullivan, SelectTech president, said in a statement. “Frank is the perfect fit for us.”

SelectTech’s facility is a 17,000-square-foot hangar on the flight line at Springfield-Beckley. There, SelectTech GeoSpatial will build airborne communication suites that allow government officials and other users to stay in contact and on the job in secure environments while flying.
