UPS brings 3D printing to one local store

The UPS Store at 2312 Far Hills Ave. in Oakwood is one of 100 company stores across the country to add 3D printing services.

The store received hardware about three weeks ago and the supporting documentation more recently, according to Mickey Hughes, a sales associate for the Oakwood UPS Store. “We’ve had a few people come in already” to use the technology, Hughes said.

UPS Stores launched a pilot project at six stores nationwide last year, then decided to expand by 100 stores based on the strong response, company officials said in a news release. The 3D print services are used by small businesses, startups, inventors, artists and others, company officials said. For more information, call (937) 294-8008 or email store2399@theupsstore.com.
