10 Veterans Day retail deals to take advantage of this year

There’s still time to jump on the holiday job train, with retailers, distribution centers and fulfillment centers looking to hire thousands in the Dayton area as the peak of the holiday shopping season rapidly approaches. With low unemployment and increasing online sales, an increase in seasonal jobs is being seen across the board, though many positions could go unfilled with the number of permanent open jobs. Area veterans and military members can take advantage of extra deals for Monday’s Veterans Day holiday, some beginning this weekend.

Proof of military service is generally required; the forms of proof vary by business. Often they include photo military ID or discharge papers.

Here’s a list of the more than two dozen deals:

1. Kohl’s

Kohl’s stores typically offers 15 percent off purchased made on Monday with a valid military ID, military dependent ID or Veteran ID. Today Kohl’s will double that discount to 30 percent, the company told the Dayton Daily News.
