Developer Larry Dillin of Dillin LLC will present plans for Centerville Place during the regularly scheduled city council meeting on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.

The developer of Austin Landing is expected to present plans Monday for a proposed development that could be built on land around the former Kroger on Ohio 48.

Larry Dillin of Dillin LLC will present his vision and plans for the Centerville Place.

In 2017, the Centerville city officials commissioned a study to determine the future viability of the property located west of South Main Street and south of Spring Valley Road that includes the former Kroger site.

It has been vacant since Kroger built a new Marketplace store in the same center.

The 2017 study showed the area could support both a shopping center and about 300 units of apartments, townhouses, patio homes and brownstones.

“We’re very excited about the project,” Centerville Mayor Brooks Compton said then.

Thanks to council’s approval, the study will be included in the Create the Vision land use plan, a joint effort by Centerville and Washington Twp. to preserve the residential character of the two entities, while “encouraging the development of existing commercial areas as mixed-use centers,’ city officials said.

Centerville Place is currently a 325,000 square-foot shopping strip that houses businesses like Bath and Body Works, Great Clips, Starbucks, Kroger Marketplace and other retailers.

Potential redevelopment plans show a small stage or platform toward the entrance to the development, surrounded by existing and new retailers.

A city spokeswoman said they will release more information about the proposal at the City Council meeting Monday evening.

Austin Landing is a large mixed-use development along Interstate 75 in Miami Twp. The development is anchored by Kohl’s, Kroger and Field & Stream and contains several restaurants, professional companies and a movie theater.
